Asylum: Logline

This is the log line for the film we have created.  This is just to sum the film up in a few lines.

"Mystified by its dark past and its horrifying stories, four curious teenagers enter and are hunted by a greater evil than anticipated, within the walls of the Asylum."

Production Name: Empty Web Productions

 
When our thinking of our production name we thought of different things that scared us and branched of ideas to do with the object then selected on of them to take further and this was Spiders so we created the name Empty Web Productions.
 

Location: Glenburn Skem

Me ,Joe and Tom went to this school in Skelmersdale this is our location we have decided to use in our Horror trailer "Glenburn".

Synergy within marketing

 
Synergy  within marketing of a film, synergy is important for different reasons and they all contribute to the success of the film, when a film is first coming out they also bring other things to drip feed information to the potential customer so what they introduce is a film poster and also a trailer because this gives information to the customer not too much to ruin the film but not too little but when they introduce a film poster the majority of the time the images on the poster will have been shown in the trailer of the film.  The posters will be put out in different public areas sometimes posters are on the electric bus shelters, they are also included in adverts like if McDonalds is promoting the film then it is normally mention within the advert posters might be put on big billboards depending on the film, this is done so that every knows about the film.  Synergy is used by all marketing teams for films because they want as many people to know about their film as possible so they make the most profit.




Horror Film Analyse- Mama

After watching the different Horror film trailers that were nominated for the golden trailer awards, I believe that the trailer for the horror film genre Mama was by far the best in the category.  I believe the main reason why I believe this was the produces who created this trailer tried to create as much suspense as doing this but by not giving to much away and they have done this by using jump cuts and they have done this successfully, by using low lighting and the majority of the trailer in darkness, this gives the evil feel to the trailer and to the story and sells this as a horror.  The music mainly sells this trailer to me because the music is feel deep low and disturbing and gives the edgy feel to it as in you don’t know what’s going to happen next.

Marketing Campaign: Saw

The genre I have choose for my media product is Horror so the marketing campaign i choose was the one for one of the most famous films is SAW, SAW has different installments  and each one was marketed in a different way.

Saw 5 has a very controversial marketing campaign when they introduced SAW 5 they used the viral marketing technique, they used this to create a tool were if you access the SAW 5 website you can access a tool which allows you to enter your friends name and also their phone number and also your name, then they will receive a phone call, for example if I used Joe Westall it would go like;
"Hello, Joe Westall Do you want to play a game? You think it's over but the games have just begun. I'm here with your friend Max Schofield. My work will continue in a way you never saw coming. You won't believe how it ends.

However due the how realistic it was, people in America who had never heard of SAW started to call the police because they believed that a child had been kidnapped, due to the amount of phone calls received the tool on the website had to be taken down.  However this is a great piece of marketing because of all his news it was spread all over the internet and millions of people were finding out about SAW 5.
